Terms of Use

Paperview network — mypaperview.com and associated services

1. Introduction

1.1. These Terms and Conditions of Use ("Terms") govern access to and use of the services provided by Paperview Systems Lda. ("Paperview Systems", "We") at mypaperview.com and associated services, including Paperview DRM, Paperview Paywall, and Paperview Account ("Services"). By using the Services, the User ("You", "User", or "Reader") accepts these Terms in full.

2. Definitions

2.1. "Publisher" refers to any company or entity that makes content available through the Paperview platform.

2.2. "Content" refers to any digital material, including articles, editions, individual pieces, or collections, acquired through the Services.

3. Access to Purchased Content

3.1. Availability of Purchased Content: Unless otherwise required by mandatory law, all content acquired through the Paperview platform is guaranteed to remain accessible to the User for a period of ten (10) years from the date of purchase (the "Availability Period"). During this Availability Period, the User will have access to purchased content in accordance with these Terms and the Publisher's own terms.

3.2. Refund Limitation After the Availability Period: Once the 10-year Availability Period has elapsed, the User acknowledges and agrees that they will not be entitled to any refund or compensation should the content cease to be available in the original format in which it was purchased.

3.3. Availability in Other Formats: Notwithstanding clause 3.2, Publishers may, at their sole discretion and without any legal or contractual obligation to Paperview Systems, make purchased content available in alternative formats, adapted to new technologies or platforms, whenever technically possible and consistent with their editorial policy.

4. Refunds and Returns Policy

4.1. Statutory Right of Return: Content purchases made through the Paperview platform may, depending on applicable law, be subject to statutory rights of return or refund (for example, a consumer's right of withdrawal).

4.2. Publisher Policy: Paperview Systems does not set, control, or determine the return rules applicable to paid content; the return policy is set by the Publisher who made the content available. Each Publisher is responsible for establishing, clearly communicating, and applying its own return or refund rules and conditions, in accordance with applicable law and in language accessible to the User.

4.3. Refund/Return Procedure: Whenever a right to return or refund applies, whether by law or under a Publisher's policy, the User must direct the request to the Publisher responsible for the content in question, following the instructions and requirements set out in that Publisher's return policy.

4.4. Disclaimer of Liability by Paperview Systems: Paperview Systems is not responsible for any dispute between the User and a Publisher regarding content return or refund rules. Any return process will be handled directly by the Publisher.

5. Refunds of Paperview Account Balances

5.1. Notwithstanding the terms governing the acquisition of content, in the event of closure of a Paperview Account, the User may request a refund of any unused balance in the account, as set out in the original Terms.

6. Content Rights and Responsibilities

6.1. Publishers are responsible for all rights relating to the Content they make available, including intellectual property rights. Paperview Systems assumes no legal liability for content published by third parties.

7. Changes to These Terms

7.1. Paperview Systems reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time for legal, technical, or commercial reasons, and will communicate such changes to the User as required by applicable law.
